We currently have TWO opportunities for people to participate in our sponsorship program. They are both described below and though very different, they are both amazing opportunities to become involved on a more intimate level with the people of Haiti and to make a direct impact on their lives, their families, their community, etc...
1. Orphan Sponsorship in Port au Prince
We have a sponsorship program for the orphans at Life is Wealth Orphanage in Port au Prince. You can read more about the orphanage on this website. We have an entire section dedicated to explaining the history of the orphanage and how we came to be involved with it.
Individuals and/or groups can sponsor an orphan at Life is Wealth for a donation of at least $32.00 per month. This money will be used for food, water, clothing, school, personal items, etc.... (a complete breakdown of where sponsorship money is allocated is available upon request). We are working on providing sponsors with opportunities a few times per year to meet their child by traveling to Haiti with Hearts United and to spend time forming a deeper relationship with them. Orphans and sponsors can also keep in touch with one another via letters which will be translated and forwarded.
2. Missionary Sponsorship
We often have people ask how we get funds to pay the daily expenses for Crystal/Ron Funk or Redgi Alvarez when no teams are on the ground in Haiti. Our best answer to that is that we depend totally on the generous donations from people who believe in the ministry and the work we are doing. A lot of work goes into planning trips, finding ministry, checking on Haitians that we have worked with (with a team), gathering supplies and overseeing work being done, checking on the orphanage and other projects, etc... If you would like to give monthly toward either Crystal/Ron Funk's expenses or Redgi Alvarez's expenses please contact us to find out how you can do so.
